Building A Better Food System

As a young independent brand we’re restless when it comes to building a more equitable and sustainable food system.

That starts with sourcing 100% of our rice from growers that are certified to industry-leading sustainable farming standards.

And through the Nice Rice Foundation we're helping raise awareness and knowledge of sustainability among smallholder farming communities:

2024

Working with agronomists from Manav Vikas Sansthan, in 2024 our grant funding provided sustainability training for more than 250 rice growers across the villages or Bir Bansian and Jandiala in Punjab, India. The training focused on improved crop residue management post harvest.

2025

We again worked with the team of agronomists from Manav Vikas Sansthan ("MVS") on an expanded project across five villages in Punjab. Through demonstration plots MVS could show growers techniques like alternate wetting & drying to save water and boost crop health, and Trichogramma cards as a natural alternative to chemical pesticides.
