Climate footprint

In 2026 we asked Foodsteps – an independent, third party, food sustainability company – to calculate the climate footprint of our dry rice products, using primary data from our own supply chain wherever possible.

We publish the results on our packaging because we think they're a really important part of our rice - just like it's nutritional value or origin.

We're aware the figures may not mean a lot to some people. But maybe some of those people will be intrigued and want to find out more. And if we're helping anyone develop an interest in what better farming can do for the planet, we believe that's a good thing.

You can see a detailed methodology on the Foodsteps website here and our results are copied below.

Climate footprint
1kg of our white Basmati rice (cradle-to-grave): 1.27 kg CO2e / kg
500g of our white Basmati rice (cradle-to-grave): 0.65 kg CO2e / 500g

1kg of our wholegrain Basmati rice (cradle-to-grave): 1.24 kg CO2e / kg
500g of our wholegrain Basmati rice (cradle-to-grave): 0.63 kg CO2e / 500g
